Dayanidhi Alagiri is one of the most innovative and thoughtful producers / distributors in Kollywood. If he has been tied with the production of Mankatha of late, he is all set to tie the knot on November 18 when wedding bells will ring in Madurai. The Mankatha crew, including director Venkat Prabhu, Premji and others, have left for Madurai to be a part of this grand ceremony.
The Mankatha team must have planned for this meticulously as they were in Bangkok till Tuesday for the shooting of Ajith's introduction song in the movie. With all of them rejoicing their producer’s new role in his life, it must be one great party in Madurai.

Va (Tamil: àź”; Tamil numeral for 1/4; working title: Va Quarter Cutting) is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film written and directed by Pushkar-Gayathri. It stars Shiva, SPB Charan and Lekha Washington in the lead roles, with Kalyan, John Vijay, Abhinayashree essaying supporting roles. The film's story takes place in one night, in which a man, with the help of his would-be brother-in-law, hunts for a last liqour before leaving to Saudi Arabia.The film, produced by Sashikanth Sivaji'sY NOT Studios and distributed by Dhayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine Movies, features film score, composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar and cinematography, handled by Nirav Shah.
Story:The story starts with Sundararajan aka Sura (Shiva) coming to Chennai from Coimbatore on his way to Saudi Arabia. He is received by Marthandam (S. P. B. Charan), a veterinary doctor, who is going to marry his sister soon.Travel agent informs Sura that he can not taste liquor or women in Saudi as laws are very tough there, he, along with Marthandam, goes to a wine shop to have the last gulp. It’s a dry day thanks to elections.
Though disappointed, Sura is determined to taste the ‘quarter’ and starts a journey to various places in Chennai where he was told that liquor would be available. He goes to a politico who supplies wine for votes, a star hotel, an Anglo Indian group of youngsters, a fish market, a gambling den, a kulfi shop and a brothel house among other places, all in search of ‘quarter’.

In a recent development in the case, conflicting reports suggest that the passports of Pakistani players have been seized impending inquiry into the fixing scandal.
'The News of the World' tabloid splashed details of a sting operation it conducted on a London-based individual, Mazhar Majeed.
The tabloid said it gave 150,000 pounds to him after he promised to arrange for Pakistan bowlers to bowl no-balls during the match.
Majeed, 35, was arrested on late Saturday night by the Scotland Yard.
The ICC too has now risen to the issue. They have come out with a release after the sting was telecast, saying investigations are on and also clarifying that no player has been arrested.

Shashi Tharoor and Sunanda Pushkar married at his ancestral home according to Hindu Nair customs at 8.30 a.m on Sunday Aug 22
Marriage was in the presence of Shashi Tharoors 94-year-old maternal grandmother. Sunanda Pushkar was in traditional Kerala attire wearing a ’kasavu’ saree. Fifteen persons from Kashmir have come with Sunanda Pushkar for the wedding. Tharoor’s sons have also come for wedding. Although it was supposed to be a very private function a lot of people had come for the wedding. ’Niraputhiri’ function was also held at the house.
Shashi Tharoor-Sunanda Pushkar sought the blessings of the elders before stepping on to the ’kathirmandapam’.
They will now plunge into a busy schedule soon that will also take them to Dubai and Spain.
Shashi Tharoor-Sunanda Pushkar will Sunday evening head for former Union minister Tharoor’s parliamentary constituency of Thiruvananthapuram.

The Endhiran trailers have finally arrived and the film is going to become one of the biggest blockbuster of the year and ofcourse in the Tamil cinema industry. The Oscar winners AR Rahman and Pookutty have jammed for ‘Endhiran’ for the second time to give away an amazing experience.
Rahman has composed six songs for the film, one of which was sung by Rahman and his daughter. Sound designer Pookutty has been handed the final edit of the movie and he is busy in his big action sound effects to polish the film before it could release

According to reports, the members of the Pakistani Censor Board saw the film and unanimously agreed that it was not suitable for viewing in Pakistan because it spoofs Osama Bin Laden.
The film tells the story of a journalist (Ali Zafar) who dreams for making America his home. But he fails to get a visa to the country. He hits upon a unique idea when he chances upon a lookalike (Pradhuman Singh) of Osama. Thereafter, he starts producing fake videos of Osama that make him famous overnight but also bring him to the notice of American intelligence agencies.
Earlier it was suggested that the film might release in Pakistan with the title ‘Tere Bin’ only, but now, Masood Elahi, the vice chairman of the Pakistani Censor Board has said that the movie won’t be exhibited in any theatres acrossPakistan.
