Dayanidhi Alagiri is one of the most innovative and thoughtful producers / distributors in Kollywood. If he has been tied with the production of Mankatha of late, he is all set to tie the knot on November 18 when wedding bells will ring in Madurai. The Mankatha crew, including director Venkat Prabhu, Premji and others, have left for Madurai to be a part of this grand ceremony.
The Mankatha team must have planned for this meticulously as they were in Bangkok till Tuesday for the shooting of Ajith's introduction song in the movie. With all of them rejoicing their producer’s new role in his life, it must be one great party in Madurai.

Va (Tamil: àź”; Tamil numeral for 1/4; working title: Va Quarter Cutting) is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film written and directed by Pushkar-Gayathri. It stars Shiva, SPB Charan and Lekha Washington in the lead roles, with Kalyan, John Vijay, Abhinayashree essaying supporting roles. The film's story takes place in one night, in which a man, with the help of his would-be brother-in-law, hunts for a last liqour before leaving to Saudi Arabia.The film, produced by Sashikanth Sivaji'sY NOT Studios and distributed by Dhayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine Movies, features film score, composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar and cinematography, handled by Nirav Shah.
Story:The story starts with Sundararajan aka Sura (Shiva) coming to Chennai from Coimbatore on his way to Saudi Arabia. He is received by Marthandam (S. P. B. Charan), a veterinary doctor, who is going to marry his sister soon.Travel agent informs Sura that he can not taste liquor or women in Saudi as laws are very tough there, he, along with Marthandam, goes to a wine shop to have the last gulp. It’s a dry day thanks to elections.
Though disappointed, Sura is determined to taste the ‘quarter’ and starts a journey to various places in Chennai where he was told that liquor would be available. He goes to a politico who supplies wine for votes, a star hotel, an Anglo Indian group of youngsters, a fish market, a gambling den, a kulfi shop and a brothel house among other places, all in search of ‘quarter’.

In a recent development in the case, conflicting reports suggest that the passports of Pakistani players have been seized impending inquiry into the fixing scandal.
'The News of the World' tabloid splashed details of a sting operation it conducted on a London-based individual, Mazhar Majeed.
The tabloid said it gave 150,000 pounds to him after he promised to arrange for Pakistan bowlers to bowl no-balls during the match.
Majeed, 35, was arrested on late Saturday night by the Scotland Yard.
The ICC too has now risen to the issue. They have come out with a release after the sting was telecast, saying investigations are on and also clarifying that no player has been arrested.
